New Year’s resolutions – many of us make them. We all want to make our lives better, easier by saving more money, losing a few pounds, stopping smoking, and even enjoying more time with family and friends. However, have you ever thought about including your furbaby in the resolutions?
No bones about it! North Texas has wonderful pet-friendly businesses and rescues! You know - those places where you and your furbaby have tail waggin' fun, where you find those unique items and #ShopLocal, and where Fido and Mittens have the best healthcare possible.
Here's your chance to show your support and nominate your fur-vorites in Unleashed Paws' 2019 Best of North Texas. Winning businesses and rescues will receive one year of online advertising on UnleashedPaws.com.
During a recent bad storm, like many other North Texans, our little family was living the 'ruff' life -- no power, lots of storm damage, upset schedules and much more. With lives becoming topsy turvey, you have to keep positive, be creative and think quickly.
We definitely didn't have an emergency preparedness plan for either the hooman or furbabies, but now will do so to make sure everyone is safe and as happy as possible. Below are a few things we learned...
See Spot run. Run, Spot, run!

BUT WAIT?! Are you and your four-legged family member doing it right in the intense Texas heat? Is your pup ready to run the upcoming Fur Fun Run and the many other active lifestyle events in North Texas?

*This just in!* One of our pawsitively best newsmen in DFW is also a dog lover! Today, we hear from Brian Curtis from NBC 5 News. Over to you, Brian…
Brian, this is a serious investigative stuff here, so let’s take it seriously. Now. Tell us about you.
No bones about it, it’s important to take care of our bodies, as well as our pets’. Many of us seek the healing touch of a chiropractor to help us with everything from back injuries to headaches to hip problems and more. But, have you ever thought about chiropractic care for your pet? They need and deserve the same level of healing as humans. Meet Dr. Andie Ibarra from On 4 Legs Wellness, who dedicates her life to help our precious animal kingdom. That’s pretty fur-tastic!
He’s bailed out of a crashing airplane over Nazi Germany. He served in the Armed Forces in some of the toughest times our country has faced. He took the hard line with generals and the media, and proudly served for decades with grit and determination. But who’s the commander-in-chief in WWII veteran C.B. Perdue’s house now? A fluffy, six-pound poodle named “Big Jack.”
Tell us about yourself, C.B. You are a veteran of WWII?

Kathy, a communications professional, has had an intense passion for animals since she was a child. It didn’t matter if she was playing with a pet, reading the Encyclopedia Britannica, visiting the zoo, crying during a Walt Disney’s nature movie or watching “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom,” Kathy was entranced with being around and learning more about animals.
As the saying goes, “Turn your passion into a career.” Her love of animals has resulted in em-BARKing on her journey at Unleashed Paws with her fellow animal lovers, Cat and Sharon. Kathy is the proud parent of three rescue dogs…Valentino, Busby and Veronica... and fin mother to Mr. Ugly, a catfish.
